Ever since becoming a mom, Cameron has made it a priority to not only fill her own cup, but also to remind everyone else to do the same. During her mental health struggles after giving birth to her first child, she realized the saying “you can’t pour from an empty cup” existed for a reason - because it is true. She was trying to give give give and forgot to do anything for herself; experiencing levels of burnout, exhaustion, and depression that she knew she didn’t want to be her normal. Once she found small ways to fill her own cup (see: meditating, journaling, exercising, getting outside, having time to herself in the mornings, etc) she realized she was exponentially happier and, most importantly, a better mom for her son. Now, as she navigates motherhood of two young boys, she is adjusting to her new normal and similarly trying to find ways to prioritize her wellbeing.
